Graduation Motto Day - In the Midst of Life

A son of a tennis friend of mine, Björn, asked me if I could be the photographer for a high school graduation event. My clients, over the years, have been almost exclusively the result of recommendations and this one was no exception. I have already been the photographer for university graduations but this was to be my first high school event.

The event was going to comprise of a motto week with a graduation ceremony followed by the ball. The time frames for the m week were the only problem, as we had to fit them in a 30-minute slot between lessons. The locations were also to be within the school grounds and I arranged a meeting at the school beforehand to check out the possible locations for the shoots taking into account the time of day and weather conditions.

This was the first shoot, the motto being "In the Midst of Life", the sun was shining and I was waiting outside, not knowing what was coming, when all the students came out dressed as if they were, I don't know what exactly but there seemed to be a lot of pregnant women around. They all looked as if they were having a great time. I took the photos as quickly as possible and then they all disappeared back into class.

The group photo was later used to produce 5 pictures on canvas which were to be presented to the teachers at the graduation ceremony.
